What is an activation key (Credential)?
An activation key (Credential) authorizes the desktop app. Each purchased device seat gets one key.
How many devices per key?
One. The first successful activation on desktop binds that device. To move machines, reset the device for that key in the dashboard, then activate again.
Reset vs revoke
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Reset device | Same key unbinds; can activate on a new machine |
| Revoke | Key is permanently invalid |
If a key is leaked, revoke immediately and contact support.
Do I need to sign in to download the installer?
No. Installers are public on the download page. Activation requires a valid key.
How does the desktop app check for updates?
It queries Mystilink for new versions. See Release channels & updates.
Beta channel
Beta builds may require a valid license. Stable installers are public. To switch to Beta, see Release channels.
